Girls’ Charisma can appear differently from the usual representation of outstanding confidence and assertiveness. While there is nothing inherently wrong with being confident and assertive, other options are still available for you to still be charming without being in the spotlight!
Still in celebration of 2022 International women’s day, we are here to share some tips for girls and women alike who aspire to work on their charismatic communication. First of all, being charismatic does not equal being dominating and being in the center of the spotlight. You can, in fact, be a charismatic person while still giving space and lift up others. So don’t get mainstream media representation to discourage you from cultivating your charms!
Take it from Emilia Clarke herself, her genuine and bright smile has been proven to steal everyone’s heart upon first look. In fact, smiling genuinely is the easiest thing you could do to make people comfortable and more open around you! Just like the proverb says, smile with your eyes, not your lips because people are getting quicker at recognizing smiles that do not reach the eyes as “fake smiles”. And you do not want that impression left on you!
Try to be attentive and listen to others. Being charismatic does not always mean shoving others to get the central spotlight. You can charm people simply by making them feel validated and understood. Although becoming an active listener might be tough for some people, it is undoubtedly one of the key ways to get people like you more.
People appreciate people who can make and take jokes. However, the more charismatic a person is, the more they are aware of how much salt and pepper they should put in every interaction. It is okay to joke with your colleagues sometimes, and make fun of their silly things. But make sure you compliment them too because the matter of hearts are fragile and you need to be careful with what you’ve got on your hands!
