UNIQLO X JW Anderson S/S 2022 is back with another capsule collection this time featuring the designer’s sentimental attachment to Britain’s sailing and seaside culture.
Uniqlo is opening up the S/S fashion season with another collaboration with none other than JW Anderson. The last time we heard from the designer was when his iconic rainbow patching jacket was made into an NFT. And for the 2022 S/S collection, JW Anderson opens up a little bit of himself through his capsule collection with Uniqlo.
As Jonathan commented himself on the capsule’s press release:
“The sea has been integral to my life ever since I was a child. It inspired this collection, and I hope people enjoy incorporating this maritime styling in their wardrobes.”
The capsule collection comes with an array of ready to wear including shirts, caps and socks sporting embroidered sailboats, as well as classic striped tees. The materials are very functional such as the use of mesh fabrics and water repellent. Here and there, we can occasionally notice the signature JW Anderson touches like patchwork and asymmetry.
As cited from their official webpages:
Inspired by the rich heritage of Britain’s sailing and seaside culture, UNIQLO and JW ANDERSON take to the shore for SS22. Discover maritime staples like nautical striped T-shirts, yacht parkas, dresses, and blouson jackets; perfect for exploring the seaside or taking a spontaneous boat trip. Complete the look with color-blocked playful hybrid fabrics in oceanic blues, sands, stone, and green. Whether at home or on holiday, Jonathan Anderson’s heart is never far from the sea.
The full JW Anderson x UNIQLO S/S 2022 collection is launching via the UNIQLO web store on March 18. So, subscribe to their newsletter so you won’t miss them out!
