Prada NFT just dropped its limited collection featuring shirts designed by Damien Hirst’s son Cassius.
Starting from June 2, 2022, you can get a Prada NFT from Ethereum for every Prada time capsule shirt purchase. If you are unfamiliar with this Prada event, let us fill you in.
So, every month, Prada holds a Time Capsule event on the first Thursday of each month. It is where a special line of clothing or fashion accessories goes on sale for 24 hours. It’s first come, first served.
Those then mailed to the customer that bought them online. This time they’re adding non-fungible tokens into the mix. Meaning, every buyer will also receive an exclusive NFT, making the items even more unique.
However, the next month’s drop will focus on a new collaboration between the brand and artist and musician Cassius Hirst. He is the son of artist Damien Hirst. After unveiling the Cass x Prada collection, the two parties teamed to develop a unisex shirt. Ultimately, it features Hirst’s signature mask and brand scan designs. Overall, the collaboration seeks to reinterpret the Prada America’s Cup sneaker style.
Available in black or white, the physical garment will come with an NFT. It includes the drop’s serial number and the number of each physical item for exact correspondence. It will also feature access to additional experiences and future drops exclusively for the owners.
Previously, Prada have been involved with NFTs before, collaborating with Adidas. Then, 3,000 tiled photos were submitted by Prada fans. After that, they went on an auction on SuperRare NFT marketplace, a digital art market on Ethereum.
Prada have also now launched an NFT community server on Discord, named Prada Crypted to discuss the applications of NFTs in fashion.
