Halloween season has arrived! Just a few days prior, CDC listed Indonesia as one of the low risk countries for Covid. After months of rigorous lockdowns following Covid second wave, Indonesians could finally take a big sigh of relief.
With Halloween just around the corner, Indonesian celebrities took this as a chance to celebrate the good news but, of course, without compromising health protocols.
Indonesia’s beloved comedian and impersonator Kristo Immanuel recently shared some clips from behind the scene clips of his Halloween photoshoot. He began the video by showing alien masks he had bought prior to Halloween because he said, “Why not?”.
Kristo was then joined by his fiance, Jessica Tjiu, and planned to have their own Halloween photoshoot from home. At one point Tjiu jokingly said, “This is our pre-wedding photoshoot!”
They began to build a simple photoshoot set using only a piece of fabric as the background. After dressing up as aliens (and some masks switching in between), Kristo and Tjiu started to pose for the cameras. It is safe to say that the photo result definitely does not look like it was taken from Kristo’s room with only a tripod as props.
Dian Sastrowardoyo, Indonesia’s national heartthrob, also shared her Harley Quinn look through her personal Instagram. Looking at the pictures, she could easily pass as a young adult in her early twenties when really she is a married woman with two kids!
Although Dian’s makeup and custome are undoubtedly immaculate, Indonesians jokingly passed the verdict that she had failed the “assignment”. One user commented under her photo, “Now this is just beautiful, nothing (in this photo) is scary.”
Another fan apparently failed to keep it together and down right screamed, “Mommy??? Sorry?? Mommy???”. Thankfully, they dropped it at that, else Instagram’s community guidelines police will have to get their hands on these fans.
Caca Tengker, a clinical psychologist turned influencer, posted her family’s mini halloween party at the front yard of their house (remember, outdoor air is the best to reduce Covid transmission). In the caption to her Instagram post, Caca explained the costumes for each family member including their pet dog Cody.
She wrote, ”So, this is how it goes: Dad @barry.tamin is a Satay seller, Cody is responsible for carrying his stuff 🦮, Mom is a Jamu seller, big sister is a crackers container (kaleng kerupuk) and little sister is a starch chip.”
The show stealer of this party is obviously the chips container big sister, Ansaira Maisadipta. Fans are busy cooing over the little girl as endless comments saying how “adorable” is seen in the comments.
See, Covid is not a reason not to have fun. We can get around with health protocols and still make good memories with friends and family. Don’t let the pandemic spoil the festive atmosphere! Halloween is all about creativity and the sky’s the limit!
