Gucci X Adidas for Milan Fashion Week

Gucci X Adidas for Milan Fashion Week

Gucci X Adidas for Milan Fashion Week brought to us the stripes collaboration of the year as Alessandro Michele finally made this possible.

It is no secret that Gucci X Adidas for Milan Fashion Week is just an event waiting to happen. After all, Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele has been eyeing this collaboration for so long. Alessandro loves Adidas so much. Even during one of backstage interviews at the brand’s Milan headquarters, he remarked confidently that “Stripes and lines are incredible symbols.’’ This collaboration fashion show also marked Gucci’s first ever offline show ever since the pandemic started.

On the other hand, in a short statement, Adidas confirmed the joining of forces, saying the union “combines the heritage and the creative codes of both brands”.

Gucci X Adidas for Milan Fashion Week The Collection

The collection involves men’s wear consisting of suits in track-worthy shades of royal blue and purple. It features the Adidas stripes down the sleeves and trousers, and Gucci written under the sports brand’s trefoil. As for women, it comes from a dual-brand corset with athletic-style dress to Victorian-inspired white dress with a full skirt. In between, there are jogging suits made out of pretty patterned knitwear paired with heels in place of trainers.

Allegedly, the tracksuit bottoms, sporty jersey maxi dresses and lightweight trench coats spoke to our desire these days for an easy-to-wear wardrobe.

Gucci X Adidas for Milan Fashion Week also features headwear. The most eye-catching is the swimming caps with the Adidas logo, and double-billed baseball caps. The trefoil also appeared on big travel bags, and as a print on trousers.

Overall, the three-stripe berets, capes and giant leather bags, and brilliant two-way Gucci monogram caps emblazoned with the Adidas Originals logo are the best items of this collaboration.

Lastly, Alessandor has remarked that this collaboration was his “long time hidden desire”. “It is an experiment that can seem easy to some, but it was extremely strong,” he said. What do you think of this fusion of luxury and sport giant brands?
