Why is Everything Green for Raya?

Why is Everything Green for Raya?

Aside from being a classic gorgeous and classy colour, green holds much deeper meaning in Islam.

For our muslim friends, the colour green symbolises paradise, eternity and wisdom.

It is also widely believed to be the Prophet Muhammed’s favourite colour.

The Quran describes paradise as a place where people “will wear green garments of fine silk.”

Green comes up a lot in Islamic history.

It was the colour of the flag of the Fatimid Caliphate, the last of the four Arab caliphates.

During the crusades, Islamic soldiers wore green to identify themselves.

All the more reason to add to the beauty of colour theory and its history.

Selamat Hari Raya!
