Low Calorie Foods for Enjoyable Diet

If you are looking for alternative low calorie foods to help your diet, you have come to a great place!

Dieting is a challenge for anyone. On top of not being able to eat to your likings, oftentimes diet food consists of bland, unsavory texture that are a total put-off. No wonder people are reluctant to start their own diet. However, what if we tell you that dieting does not have to look like that!

Yes, dieting can and should be fun and enjoyable! If the process of diet leaves you feeling hungry and unfulfilled between meals, then naturally all your effort becomes counterproductive.  Because not only does it make it much more tempting to overeat and indulge, psychologically you are sending the wrong signal to your brain.

But worry not since we have the ultimate list of low calorie foods for an enjoyable diet!

Potato, the low calorie food champion

People often associate potatoes with high-fat french fries and potato chips which correlates with high-calorie intakes. Whilst the truth is, potatoes can be a filling and nutritious part of a healthy diet. One medium baked potato with the skin contains 161 calories but provides 4 grams each of protein and fiber as well. In fact, boiled potatoes ranked as the most filling, with a score of 323 on the satiety index, which is seven times higher than croissants.

Oats can be delicious too!

Oats are not only low in calories but also high in protein and fiber that keep you feeling full. A 1/2-cup (40-gram) serving of dry oats has just 148 calories but packs 5.5 grams of protein and 3.8 grams of fiber. Both of which can have a significant impact on your hunger and appetite. One study revealed that eating oatmeal can reduce hunger and calorie intake at the next meal.

Lastly, all-hail greek yogurt

Greek yogurt can help curb cravings and promote weight loss. Though the exact numbers vary between brands and flavors, a 2/3-cup (150-gram) serving of Greek yogurt typically provides about 130 calories and 11 grams of protein. A study revealed that women who ate yogurt experienced less hunger, but they also consumed 100 fewer calories at dinner than those who ate crackers or chocolate.
